Corporate Law Saskatoon - Our Banking & Project Finance Group helps lenders and borrowers within various financing alternatives. The various loan and other commercial credit facilities we serve range from simple letters of credit to complex multi-jurisdictional credit facilities (secured and unsecured, non-syndicated and syndicated). Several transactions have involved public sector credit facilities.

We have acted as a lender and borrower counsel to facilitate numerous syndicated credit facilities which have increased capital in the hundreds of millions of dollars. We have among our clients, manufacturers of auto parts, pipe coating and manufacturing companies, restaurant franchisees, and large storage and moving businesses. We have assisted borrowers, in businesses as diverse as home appliances and restaurant franchising, in order to secure a wide range of acquisition financing by using senior debt, sale-leaseback transactions, and subordinated and mezzanine lending. Our Banking & Project Finance Group has specific strength in four transactional areas: project finance, asset finance, real estate finance, and subordinated debt and mezzanine financing.

Asset Securitization
Our team which looks after Banking & Project Finance represent borrowers and lenders within asset-based loans which require the use of receivables, inventory, bond obligations, leased equipment, and various other assets as collateral. Amongst our clients are a video game distributor, a technology company, and various other businesses with complex needs for cross-border guarantees and security. We serve borrower clients who have sales and manufacturing operations within the U.S., Canada and abroad.

Our lawyers have accumulated a vast amount of skill documenting the necessary covenants for cash management, reserves and reporting while representing borrowers on asset-based loans made by nearly all of the major lenders in the market.

Project Finance
Our office has knowledge navigating the complexities of regulatory, legal and financial Matters involved within the financing of huge projects, such as the structure of power plants, pulp mills, industrial facilities, mines, other capital-intensive building projects and real estate developments. For these complex structures, we offer project finance help to both lenders and borrowers. On the lender side, our skill includes advising regarding construction financing and subsequent sale of a hydroelectric facility. We also represent pension fund managers as lenders in first mortgage project financing for the structure of commercial real estate projects.

Real Estate Finance
Due to the good working relations our lawyers have along with all major financial institutions, we have numerous years of success helping with construction finance and commercial mortgage involving real estate acquisition and development. We advise clients regarding loan structures. We can negotiate and settle financing documents from both the borrower's and lender's perspectives. Dealing with environmental due diligence is part of closing and documenting such financing transactions. In situations of foreclosure or default, our aim is to assist lenders maximize debt recovery by suggesting on mortgage remedies and security enforcement options.

Subordinated Debt and Mezzanine Financing

Saskatoon has been an inhabited area for roughly 6,000 years, and it was not until the summer of 1883 that the first settlers started to arrive and reside within the area. Saskatoon is taken from the name 'mis-sask-quah-toomina', the Cree Indian name for a local indigenous berry. It is situated at the central province of Saskatchewan, Canada, on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.
